Last week we took a couple of days off and made a few day trips. Below is a few of the places we visited. If you are ever in either of these cities, please check out these locations.

The Blue Plate is a homegrown Chattanooga restaurant near the Chattanooga Riverwalk and Aquarium on Chestnut Street. It has the feel of a modern diner and every dish is made from scratch. The loaded blue chips are great as an entree by itself.
Rock Point Books – http://www.rockpointbooks.com/
Rock Point Books is an independent bookstore located in downtown Chattanooga that opened in November 2006. RPB has more than 10,000 titles and offers a large selection of classic literature, Southern literature, new releases, nonfiction, history, children’s books, and more. RPB is also home to the MoonPie General Store.
Clumpies Ice Cream – http://www.clumpies.com/
Clumpies is absolutely the best ice cream around. The best thing is their ice cream has 16% butterfat. The ice cream is rich, smooth, and creamy. What more could you ask for?
Go Fish Clothing and Jewelry Co. – http://www.gofishretail.com/
Go Fish is a manufacturer, importer, designer and retailer of women’s clothing, footwear, jewelry, hats, bags and other accessories. As well, they design their own line of positive and tourist oriented t-shirts and an extensive line of Handmade wood, iron and clay that has been ordered and purchased from artisans in developing third world nations. In accordance with our Mission of impacting lives both here and abroad, Go Fish is committed to using the talents and resources of these artists to create a better life for themselves and those in their community.

Landmark Booksellers is small, independent bookstore with a southern sense of charm and hospitality located in downtown Franklin. They are housed in an antebellum Greek Revival building dating back to the 1820s.
Merridee’s Breadbasket – http://www.merridees.com/
Merridee’s is a great place to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner while in downtown Franklin. Their breads and desserts are made completely from scratch and baked fresh every day with the best ingredients. Merridee’s is located just off Main Street on Fourth Ave. South.
The Cocoa Tree – http://www.thecocoatree.com/
The Cocoa Tree is located just north of downtown Nashville in the historic Germantown district. The truffles are hand-crafted and are absolutely amazing. You can order the truffles online, but I would suggest a trip to Nashville and pick them up in person. Just buy a few extra for the trip home.
Curious Gourmet – http://www.curiousgourmet.com/
The Curious Gourmet is a locally owned and operated gourmet shop located on Main Street downtown Franklin. They carry a wide range of fine culinary and gourmet products as well as offering lunch time or evening demonstration cooking classes. They also sell the Original Tennessee Whoopie Pie and Wild Bill’s Old Fashioned Sodas.
