Big Creek Missions began in 2002 when students in the Chilhowee Baptist Association recognized the need to reach out and share the love of Christ in Appalcahia. Through partnerships with multiple churches, the Association began a mission trip that would offer a quality trip (at a low cost) to local students while reaching out to people in one of the neediest areas of the country. Their humble beginnings can be attributed to the leadership and encouragement of the Chilhowee Association and Mission of Hope.
Students, and adults, from our church have made several mission trips to Big Creek. Earlier this year both groups made construction mission trips to Big Creek to work in their newly obtained 24,000 square foot ministry center (formerly Big Creek Elementary).
