Throughout my blog, I hope to feature local and regional areas or people of interest. Today’s post features a very talented local artist and a local craft & art gallery in downtown Sweetwater.
Gary Dagnan has been drawing and painting since childhood. He is a Tennessee native, being born and growing in the East Tennessee area. His inspiration comes from the rural landscapes of this area. According to Gary, “Most of my paintings are of the mountains, hills, lakes and buildings of this area. I enjoy the changing light and colors that come from the distinctly different seasons of Tennessee.”
Morris Galleries features fine American crafts & works of art from talented local artists. Owners Steve and Susan Morris opened the doors to Morris Galleries on November 12, 2005 in historic downtown Sweetwater, TN. Morris Galleries is located on the second floor of what was formerly Sweetwater’s Masonic Lodge. Now Steve is in the process of remodeling the first floor in anticipation of expanding the gallery. So, the next time you’re in Sweetwater, look for the green doors on Main Street across from the town square.
