Well, this is my first attempt at a blog. Several of my friends have blogs, so I thought I would give it try as well.
As for the name of my blog, “better than I deserve”; that is Dave Ramsey’s response when asked how he is doing. Those of you who listen to Dave’s radio show know what I’m talking about. And, the more I hear that statement, the more I realize many of us are much better than we deserve.
According to Webster’s dictionary, mercy is defined as “a blessing that is an act of divine favor or compassion”. Mercy implies compassion that forbears punishing even when justice demands it. Grace can be defined as approval, favor, or “disposition to or an act or instance of kindness, courtesy, or clemency”. You see, we have all seen God’s mercy and received His grace.
So, why “better than I deserve”? Because God has chosen to bless me with all I have and more than I will ever need. Not because I deserve it or want it, but because He loves me and wants the best for me.
Brian, good to see you in the blogosphere.
Thanks for the link. Keep up the blogging!
